Our Story

Savi started with a road trip and a lot of op shops.
During a trip down south, we decided to stop at every op shop we could find along the way. What sounded fun quickly became frustrating — tracking down shops in unfamiliar towns was harder than expected, and it took far more time than it should have. Somewhere along the way, we stumbled across a pair of quirky, hand-painted Doc Martens that were absolute perfection — except they didn’t fit either of us. After a few hopeful “Cinderella” attempts, we had to leave them behind, wishing there was a way to let another op shopper know about the treasure we’d just found.
That night, sitting around the campfire, we talked about how often this happens — missing shops, missing sales, and leaving great finds behind because there’s no easy way to share that knowledge. That’s when the idea for Savi was born.
Savi was created to make op shopping simpler and more enjoyable.
Op shopping has always been about more than just saving money. It’s about discovery, creativity, sustainability, and the quiet thrill of uncovering something special— whether that’s a quirky one-of-a-kind piece, a barely-worn designer find, or a bargain you can’t believe someone let go.
In a world where we generate 90 million tonnes of textile waste every year, and the textile industry creates more global greenhouse gas emissions than air travel and shipping combined, choosing second-hand matters more than ever. But finding the right op shops — especially ones close together — takes time, local knowledge, and plenty of trial and error.
That’s where Savi comes in.
Savi is an app designed to help you discover op shops, tip shops, and second-hand stores near you, find clusters of stores in one area, and plan your op shopping day with more confidence. Whether you’re heading out for a full day of browsing or just seeing what’s nearby, Savi helps you spend more time exploring and less time searching.

Our Mission
Op shops are everywhere — but they’re not always easy to find.
Many are tucked away on suburban streets, hidden inside shopping centres, or just far enough apart to make planning frustrating. Searching online for “op shops near me” only brings up op shops — leaving out the next frontier (tip shops) and second-hand stores.
This challenge is even more obvious when you’re travelling — whether for work or on holiday — and suddenly op shopping in an unfamiliar area feels like starting from scratch.
Savi was built to solve that problem.
By bringing op shop, tip shops and second-hand stores together on one map, Savi helps make second-hand shopping more accessible, efficient, and enjoyable — whether you’re a seasoned op shopper or someone just starting out. It’s easier to plan a day out, and reduce travel time between shops, leaving you with more time to browse.
Our goal is simple: to make buying second-hand the default choice.

Built for Real Op Shoppers
Savi isn’t about chasing trends or telling you how to shop. It’s designed to support the way people actually op shop.
That means:
- discovering op shops you didn’t know existed (the Savi map includes many smaller shops you won’t find in Google maps)
- finding hot spots where multiple stores sit close together
- planning smarter routes to save time and fuel
- and exploring new suburbs or states with confidence
For many people op shopping is a way to express their personal style — mixing eras, finding unique pieces, and creating looks you won’t see everywhere else. For others, it’s a way to afford quality clothing and higher-end brands. Sometimes it’s the thrill of the hunt — never knowing what you’ll uncover next.
There’s something in Savi for everyone.

Never Miss an Op Shop Sale
One of the most common frustrations for op shoppers is missing out on sales. With prices rising and popular items moving quickly, shopping sales is one of the best ways to make sure you’re getting genuine bargains — but they’re easy to miss if you don’t know when or where they’re happening.
Savi helps solve this by notifying you whenever op shops near you are running sales. If a sale is happening within a 10km radius, you’ll get notified — making it easier to plan ahead, add it to your calendar, and shop at the right time without constantly checking social media or relying on luck.
It’s a simple way to save more money, shop smarter, and make the most of the op shopping trips you’re already planning.
Saving Money, Reducing Waste, Supporting Community
At its heart, op shopping supports charities, keeps usable items out of landfill, and gives clothing a longer life. Buying second-hand clothing is one of the easiest ways to shop more sustainably — without sacrificing style or budget.
Savi makes it easier to choose second-hand more often by removing some of the friction. When op shopping is easier to plan, people do it more — saving money, reducing waste, and supporting local communities along the way.
Growing With the Op Shopping Community
Savi is always evolving, shaped by real users, local knowledge, and the way op shopping works in different cities. Our database is crowd-sourced, which means our community helps keep the app accurate and up to date. You can add new shops as you discover them, flag closures or relocations, leave reviews, and share what you find.
From uncovering hidden gems to highlighting op shopping hotspots, our goal is to help even more people discover the joy of op shopping across Australia.
Whether you op shop every weekend or just occasionally, Savi is here to help you explore more easily — save money, shop sustainably, express your style, and enjoy the hunt a little more.
