Savi is Australia’s largest op shop discovery platform, helping people find nearby op shops, tip shops and second-hand stores, with real-time alerts for local sales.
Fast Facts
Founder Information
Savi was founded by Perth couple Cherie and Darren Harvey, who have backgrounds in administration across the education and mining sectors. Neither came from a technology background, but both shared a passion for second-hand shopping and saw an opportunity to make it easier for others to participate in the circular economy.
The idea for Savi was conceived during a road trip through Western Australia’s South West, when the pair realised there was no simple way to search op shops, tip shops and second-hand stores in one place. Discovering great shops often relied on luck, local knowledge, or hours of research across Google, Facebook and individual websites.
Determined to solve the problem, they launched the Savi Op Shop Finder in 2023. Since then, the app has grown to thousands of users across Australia through organic growth and community support.
Today, Savi helps people discover nearby op shops and receive real-time sale alerts, while supporting charities to reach more customers. The founders are currently building the next phase of the platform, with a long-term vision of making second-hand shopping the default choice for consumers worldwide.
Their mission is simple: make buying second-hand easier than buying new.
